Synopsis: This series revolves around a group of peculiar detectives in a new division created to fight against an increase in atrocious crimes. Osawa Eriko is a beautiful career woman who has just returned from training in the U.S. and is appointed as the “boss” of this division. But despite her intelligence and capabilities, she can never understand a man’s heart, so she remains unable to find a husband. In fact, her assignment in the U.S. was really a demotion after she ruined her career track over a man. So why was she chosen as the boss of the new division? Even though the detectives are talented, they all have some kind of issue or flaw, and they are considered to be the “problem children” of the police force. In the end, the division’s true purpose is just to isolate these problematic detectives. –Tokyograph

Episode 1:
What’s this Peepo Peepa Peepee nonsense?
Nodate, Osawa and Morioka are saluting wearing silly headgear in this episode. Peepo, Peepa, Peepee are mascots for the Tokyo Metro Police Department. They have big ears to listen to the citizens’ voices, big eyes to watch every corner in society, and antenna to catch movement in society!

Episode 3:
Why does Nodate call Rika by the nickname Ricky?
He actually calls her Rika-rin in Japanese, which sounds cutesy since she’s so young. So instead of directly translating it as Rika-rin, I went with “Ricky” which has the same effect in English.

What’s the significance of the cherry blossom tree in Naoki’s drawing?
Cherry blossom trees bloom in spring. They also signify a time of birth and renewal.

Episode 6:
Why does Boss and Iwai speak Korean in this episode?
Korean pop boy band 2PM makes a guest appearance in this episode, so Boss and Iwai are infected by the Korean Wave bug making them speak intermittent Korean. ^_^

Episode 7:
Boss speaks weird in one scene with Tadokoro about a naughty child, why?
I had to change the spelling of a couple words to make her dialogue seem off.
That’s why I added the “z” at the end. She was speaking like a little kid because she was pretending to be a little kid.

Episode 8:
Boss is set up on a “blind date” in this episode, but the word in Japanese is actually “omiai”–a pre-arranged marriage date. It’s basically a date in hopes of getting married. I opted to translate it as “blind date” since most Westernized countries have no concept of this. Also “pre-arranged marriage date” is wordy compared to the original word, “omiai”!

    episode 11 thoughts:
    1) who’s the ‘Hayashi’ that Kimoto mentioned to Hanagata at the end?

    2) also at the end, when Katagiri bowed on the streets, what he said was an allusion to Samantha Thavasa. This started in Season 1 and was taught to him by Nodate. Up till now i still don’t understand what the act meant, but it amounts to “Thanks for the hard work, Samantha Thavasa”. Yup, something like that.

    Hope everybody enjoyed the show as much as i did :)

      I think you may be right on both points. LOL. Although the 2nd one is a little random. And to me it sounds like gibberish. Samantha Thavasa is a bag brand, so I dunno why he would be saying thanks to her for. o.O

        hi, i finished watching season1 just now, and the moment Katagiri made the “otsukaresama samantha thavasa” made me think, they are doing it because ‘samantha thavasa’ gives the same feeling (sound-wise) with the word ‘otsukaresama’. i think there is a word play as giving rhyme to it :D

        I second that request!  I saw a raw for season 1 episode 1, but can’t find subs anyway!  I hope you consider subbing this one. 

        FYI – another Amami Yuki drama, Gold, has been subbed up to episode 5,
        but it’s been nearly a year since the those subs were release.  I know a
        lot of people who would love to have the remaining episodes subbed.
